Overview
The TCMS SCA is a club for school leaders! Student members represent their homeroom (HOWL) classes and are tasked to work with their school community and get their classmates engaged. Members of the SCA are a voice for the students of the school and are involved in a variety of leadership and service activities. Throughout the school year, the SCA meets once a month to discuss opportunities for the student body, from addressing student needs to organizing fundraisers.
Highlights
Last year, the SCA helped collect supplies for the SPCA and participated in a canned food drive. The SCA helped to collect over one-thousand pairs of socks and also did a toy collection during Christmas to donate to the Christmas Mother foundation. In previous years, the SCA has raised over $19,000 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Additionally, leaders in the SCA have had the opportunity in previous years to attend a state leadership conference in Virginia Beach, VA, with other youth leaders.
Time Commitment
SCA representatives will meet as a whole group once a month during HOWL block. Additionally, members will be expected to communicate SCA news and events with their classmates and find ways to get them engaged. SCA officers will plan meetings and work with club sponsors to develop new ideas or initiatives. An election for next year’s officers will be held in the spring.
How to Sign Up
Any student interested in joining the SCA should communicate with their HOWL teacher to volunteer to be a representative.
